Jealousy

Where we’ve come from
Where we are now
we’ve come too fast
forgoing the lessons we should have
learned in the past

A movie playing
On the back of my eyelids
A sweeter time of when we were just kids

Before the rage and the war we would wage
Before the lust and the decimation of trust
Before the lies of the lie of the life we would lead

The constant bitterness we would breath

and our words were daggers
Stabbing at the heart laid bricks of what was once us.

You fell before me
A hand raised up in plea
Your face distorted
by my jealousy

No light in this tunnel
you can’t turn back
Once you’re committed
Sleep away the vengeance
Sleep away the act

All is red and violent
In this angry sea
A once happy broken hearted memory.
